Top Christmas Tree Farms in Charleston, South Carolina


As Autumn blows it's cool breezes across the Lowcountry, the area along the Eastern seaboard that includes Charleston, South Carolina, many residents start thinking about their holiday preparations. This usually happens as early as Thanksgiving. This includes putting up lights and selecting the perfect Christmas tree. Fortunately, Charleston, SC has several wonderful Christmas Tree farms where families may find some of the most beautiful trees available to give that final touch to their holiday homes. Here are some recommendations where you can find an excellent quality Christmas tree at an affordable price in Charleston, South Carolina.

Tomlinson Farms, is located on 182 McCarn Road, Ridgeville, SC and is situated on a multi-acre farm just a few minutes outside of the quaint town of Summerville, SC. This area is full of Southern charm and the Tomlinson Farm is no exception. They offer only the best quality trees consisting of Virginia Pines, Leyland Cypress, Eastern Red Cedar and Fraser Fir. Most of their trees are grown on site, but they also ship in fresh trees weekly from our other nearby southern states when it get very busy. Tomlinson Farms is open the day after Thanksgiving until Christmas Eve, from 9 AM to 7 PM, Seven (7) days a week. You may choose your own tree and they will cut it down for you fresh and mount it on your car safely for the ride home. Prices start at $50.
 

Lebanon Christmas Tree Farm is another one of my favorites. This family owned farm is located eight (8) miles west of Goose Creek, SC along highway 176. Not only is it a beautiful drive that takes you along a windy route, but it is a nice way to take your family for a ride on a weekend singing Christmas carols! This farm includes Leyland Cypress, Virginia Pines and Carolina Sapphires, which have a unique bluish tint that looks marvelous all decked out in bright lights. You may walk along the farm and search for the tree that will work best for your home and they cut it fresh for you and help you with loading onto your family's vehicle. The Lebanon Christmas Tree Farm is open to the public the day after Thanksgiving until Christmas Eve. Their hours of operation are 9 AM to Dark every day of the week. Trees cost between $45-150 depending on size and quality.

Lastly, just a twenty-five minute drive from Charleston, SC is the Toogoodoo Christmas Tree Farm, a family favorite with many of the "natives" here. This 35 acre farms is located along route 162 in Hollywood, SC. Not only do they offer some of the finest Christmas trees ever grown in the Lowcountry, but also a variety of activities designed to keep the entire family entertained. In addition to choosing from one of 15,000 live Christmas trees, families can enjoy a talk with their mascot "Toogie" the talking Christmas tree, take a ride on the Toogoodoo Choo-Choo (train ride) and visit with the animals in Santa's petting zoo. Visitors to the Toogoodoo Farm are greeted with the sounds of cheery holiday music, the scents of an outdoor bonfire and the taste of homemade apple cider and other treats. There is a holiday shop on site where visitors can get in some last minute shopping. Many families have made a visit to Toogoodoo Farms a part of their holiday traditions. They are open Thursday through Sunday following Thanksgiving until Christmas Eve from 2 PM to dusk. Prices range from $40 to $150 and it's always free to visit the Toogoodoo Farms.
